First place in the category of girls under 16 years old was taken by Ekaterina Iurcu. The athlete outscored her opponents by 40 points. The winner of the women’s category under 12 years old was the current Russian champion Yaroslava Dubinina. Both girls are students of the Vladivostok KSSHOR.
“The athletes are training in Vladivostok at the Seven Feet Yacht Club under the guidance of coaches Mikhail Utkin, Denis Gaidaenko, Dmitry Samoilenko and Konstantin Pirozhkov,” the press service of the Primorsky Territory government said.
The organizers note that the regatta participants sailed their boats in difficult weather conditions. The wind constantly changed its direction and strength during the races. In total, 390 athletes from different parts of our country took part in the “Optimist” category competitions.
