For mountain running, it is recommended to buy trail shoes, for long distances it is better to choose shoes one size larger.

You also need to take into account that shoes should have good cushioning, absorb shocks, and reduce the consequences for the joints, especially for beginners. It helps to correctly distribute weight and load on the musculoskeletal system.

Best of all, experts say, shoes with foam soles with a thickness of 10 mm or more at the toe are suitable for beginners. To check the cushioning, you need to jump on two legs on the foot. If there is no stress and pain, this is your choice.

There are shops where sneakers will be selected professionally, taking into account the individual characteristics of the foot. Appropriate footwear is an important aspect, because if you wear something that is not designed for your feet, it can hurt.

In addition, it is recommended to pay attention to the material of the sneakers, the presence or absence of carbon inserts, which put more stress on the ligaments and are suitable for experienced runners.

“If you are just starting to run and do not yet understand whether you will like this activity, continue or give it up in a couple of weeks, do not become a victim of marketing: pay attention to training models from the middle price segment. Don’t jump on famous brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Saucony and others. Take a closer look at less well-known manufacturers, including Chinese ones, such as Anta, Li Ning, 361 Degrees,” advised XFIT expert Yulia Gulyaeva.
