Athletes from Karelia show the results of hard training at the Russian Championship in cross-country skiing among boys and girls aged 17-18. Competitions started on Wednesday, March 1, in the Kirov region. 250 athletes from 53 regions of our country are participating.
In the public “Center for Sports Training”, information was transmitted that on the first day of the competition, races of 5 and 10 kilometers were held in the classic style. The honor and dignity of Karelia were defended by Daria Bortnik, a pupil of the Republican sports school of the Olympreserve, and Anastasia Sidorova, a representative of the Kondopoga school, taking 25th and 29th places, respectively.
In addition, an athlete from Kostomuksha Korney Kornev ranked 78th among boys, and Fedor Chepik from Petrozavodsk took 118th place.
Next in line are the classic sprint, free style individual race and relay races.
