Dozens of athletes from Europe and Asia will take part in the second UAE President’s Show Jumping Cup, which will be held from November 16 to 18 in the Moscow region.
“We observe that equestrian sport is popular in Russia, there are many opportunities for organizing and holding equestrian competitions at a high level. For us, of course, equestrian sport is one of the areas for developing cooperation between the Russian Federation and the UAE. The first Cup was held in 2022 President of the UAE for show jumping and were very pleased with how the event was organized, which motivated us to prepare for it for the second time in 2023,” Interfax quotes Hamad Rashed Alhebsi, Deputy Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy in Russia.
The tournament, as last year, will take place over three days: on Thursday and Friday – the first days of competition, and on Saturday – the Grand Prix with obstacles up to 160 cm in height. The sports program will be supplemented with show elements to make the competition more interesting look.
The prize fund for this year’s competition will be $80 thousand in rubles at the exchange rate on the day of payment, which is $10 thousand more than it was in 2022. $35 thousand will be paid to the winners.
It is expected that riders from Belarus and Uzbekistan (in addition to Russian ones) will take part in the Cup, and the participation of athletes from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is also possible.
