Athletes from Buryatia took the prize in the bandy competition

The international championship “Two Lakes Cup” in bandy was held in two stages: the first stage was held on March 6 on Lake Baikal, and the second on April 3 on Lake Khuvsgul in Mongolia.
All teams fought with dignity and showed a high level of skill and unity; each game was filled with emotions, the press service of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Buryatia notes.
At the end of the two stages of the tournament, it became known which teams took prizes.
The honorable first place and the “Two Lakes Cup” 2024 was taken by the team “Irkutsk National Research Technical University” from the city of Irkutsk. The Mongolian Youth Team received silver medals.
Third place was won by our Buryat athletes – the student team of the republic.
Let us remind you that the first international student bandy tournament was held in 2023. The tournament is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Russian-Mongolian crew’s flight into space, which took place 43 years ago.
The flight took place on the Soyuz-39 spacecraft, the crew of which included the ship’s commander Vladimir Dzhanibekov and cosmonaut-researcher citizen of Mongolia Zhugderdamidiin Gurragcha.
