The independent organization for the fight against doping in athletics (AIU) disqualified Russian athlete Natalya Antyukh for violating anti-doping rules. “Following AIU allegations based on data from the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory (LIMS), Russian athlete Natalya Antyukh was disqualified for using a prohibited substance/method. The results were canceled from July 15, 2012 to June 29, 2013,” the AIU press service said on Twitter.
In 2017, by the decision of the IOC, Natalya Antyukh was deprived of the silver medal of the 2012 Olympics in the 4×400 m relay due to the disqualification of the Russian team after the discovery of doping in the samples of runner Antonina Krivoshapka. In April 2021, the Court of Arbitration for Sport suspended Natalya Antyukh for four years for violating anti-doping rules. The results of the athlete from June 30, 2013 were canceled.
In February 2017, Natalya Antyukh announced her retirement. In January 2019, she was appointed to the position of Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg. A year later, Natalya Antyukh left for the post of head of the Olympic Reserve School.
