At Zenit caught fire from the “Torch”

Three more matches took place in the fourth round of the Russian Championship. Dynamo and Zenit with the same score – 2:0 – defeated Baltika and Fakel, respectively, after which they had seven points each. CSKA, having beaten Sochi 3:1, scored nine points and moved Spartak from third place.
The match with Dynamo was interesting not only because the white-and-blues performed against the backdrop of bright victories over Zenit in the championship and Krasnodar in the Russian Cup, which showed that their cooperation with the new head coach Marcel Lichka is starting to bear fruit . Muscovites still played without Arsen Zakharyan, whom the Czech specialist counted on very much, seeing in him one of the main conductors of his tactical ideas in attack. But with regret, Lichka stated on Match TV that Zakharyan can already be considered a player of the Spanish Real Sociedad (see material on this page).
Visually, Dynamo’s football has practically not changed without the 20-year-old midfielder, although there was a feeling that in the first half of the meeting with Baltika, the team seemed to get used to his absence. Vyacheslav Grulev, who replaced Zakharyan in the starting lineup, was very active and even headed dangerously from a set piece, but before the break, Kaliningraders probably attacked better, who created the most scoring chance when Yan Kazaev’s shot was parried by Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin.
But in the second half, Lichka’s wards demonstrated that they have no dependence on Zakharyan. Moreover, there is Konstantin Tyukavin. True, he did not realize his chances this time, but 19-year-old defender Stanislav Bessmertny, who played only the second match in the Premier League, scored. In addition, Denis Makarov scored, and Dynamo confidently won, for the first time this season without missing a single goal – 2:0.
In the home match between Zenit and Fakel, everything seemed absolutely transparent. The champion, who had already lost five points, had to calmly beat Voronezh, who suffered three defeats at the start of the championship, in order to reduce the gap from Spartak to two points ahead of the confrontation with him in the next round. And no one doubted that the Petersburgers would cope with this task, even if Fakel recently caused a sensation in the cup match with CSKA, and it was on the road.
After a short reconnaissance, Zenit easily opened the scoring. Mateo Cassierra took advantage of the inconsistency between the guests’ goalkeeper Vitaly Gudiev and defender Sergei Bozhin, pierced the ball to Ivan Sergeyev, who sent it into an empty net. A similar goal was brought to Spartak in the match with Ural. Voronezh residents snapped, and Vyacheslav Yakimov forced the hosts’ goalkeeper Mikhail Kerzhakov to work hard. But it was, of course, much more difficult for Gudiev, especially when Bozhin, who stumbled out of the blue, “fired” again, and Sergeev fell out on the gate alone. Gudiev did not save even when Claudinho jumped out at him. So thanks to him, the “Torch” remained in the game.
And in the second half, a real nerve appeared in it. At Zenit, Claudinho became very nervous – a hot Brazilian with a Russian passport was categorically not satisfied with the degree of rigidity of martial arts and the interpretation of the rules by the referee Pavel Shadykhanov. The head coach of the Petersburgers, Sergei Semak, also regularly expressed dissatisfaction with refereeing, complaining that his wards were beaten too often and with impunity. In such an atmosphere, football itself quietly faded into the background, and Shadykhanov even had to break up a couple of local skirmishes.
In the end, it all ended in a big scandal. “Torch” in the end just crushed “Zenith” and seemed to earn a clean penalty when Strahinja Erakovic blocked the shot with his hand in the penalty area. However, the judge on the video replay drew attention to another episode that preceded the violation of the Serbian defender, and saw an unobvious foul from the Voronezh team. Now they unanimously grabbed their heads, perplexed by Shadykhanov’s verdict. Here, a massive brawl almost broke out on the field, and in the 98th minute the hosts ran away almost “two to zero”, and Gustavo Mantuan set the final result – 2:0. Thus, “Zenith” with seven points caught up in this indicator with “Dynamo” and “Rostov”.
In the third match of the day, CSKA had a noticeable game advantage, but could not convert it into at least one goal. Even the top scorer of the championship, Fedor Chalov, ruined a wonderful moment that Willian Rocha prepared for him. However, the red-blue striker scored all his four goals in previous rounds from the penalty spot. Sochi goalkeeper Nikolai Zabolotny was also reliable. At the same time, the Black Sea almost did not threaten the CSKA goal, which was defended not by Igor Akinfeev, who felt discomfort, but by his 19-year-old replacement Vladislav Torop.
But at the beginning of the second half, defender Marcelo Alves summed up the guests, who received a second yellow card. And soon forward Luka Djordjevic also hit his own goal, unsuccessfully posing himself under the blow of Kirill Nababkin after a corner. The army team took the lead 1-0 and seemed to have to put pressure on Sochi in the majority, but they lost their vigilance and ran into a counterattack, which was completed by Miguel Silveira. And yet, Anton Zabolotny brought the hosts victory, and again they managed to successfully play a corner. And then Mikhail Ryadno scored a handsome goal, which allowed CSKA to get ahead of Spartak with nine points on the best goal difference.
