Spanish fans at the 2022 World Cup match with Germany unfurled the flag of the Azov Regiment (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) on their podium, after which FIFA officers approached them and seized the flag.
This was announced by the former player of the Ukrainian national football team Roman Zozulya.
“Yesterday, during the Germany-Spain match, Spanish fans unfurled a large flag of Ukraine, on which there was the symbolism of the Azov regiment. A few minutes later, representatives of FIFA appeared and seized the flag, citing the fact that it violates some standards,” Zozulya said.
