At the trial of the murderer of the Vedler model, their love story was voiced

“Gretta started kicking the windshield in hysterics”

In the Presnensky Court, Dmitry Korovin, accused of murdering Instagram model Gretta Vedler, answered questions from participants in the trial, and the prosecutor partially read out a story from his criminal case in the first person. As already told by “MK”, ​​Gretta’s lover, according to the investigation, strangled the girl, and then hid her corpse in a suitcase and took the body to their native Lipetsk. A year later, police officers found a corpse in the back seat of Korovin’s parents’ car.

Korovin, as before, went over the rosary with enthusiasm. Lowering his eyes, he quietly refused to testify. Instead of the defendant’s speech, the prosecutor read out the answers of the young man, which he had previously given to the investigators. The entire history of the relationship between Gretta and Dmitry was stored on the pages of this case.

They went to the same school and, as tenth graders, started dating in 2015. Dmitry considered Gretta to be a kind and open person. Despite the fact that the guy left to enter a university in another city, the lovers still continued to communicate. At some point, the girl periodically began to leave for Ryazan to visit friends. As the defendant found out later, Gretta had a falling out with her parents and started working as a stripper, providing services of an intimate nature. In 2017, there was a discord in the relationship, the young people either met or parted. After living a little in Moscow together, they fled again. At that time, Korovin borrowed a million rubles from Gretta against receipt. He returned the money with services, paying for her studies, accommodation, rhinoplasty and trips abroad. Thus, the guy decided that the debts were paid off.

Life in Moscow greatly changed the couple, who were always in pursuit of money. In July 2020, money disputes began, according to Dmitry, at some point Gretta had to give him two million rubles. Although the girl did not think so, remembering that million rubles on receipt, she perceived the payment for studies and other things as gifts. Dmitry, experiencing financial difficulties, was not going to give anything away, because he wanted to buy a house for his parents and was also waiting for a million rubles from Gretta.

In that fateful February 2021, Dmitry lived in Lipetsk. Arriving to Vedler in Moscow, he rented a hotel room. There, the couple drank a lot and repeatedly entered into an intimate relationship. After that, Gretta showed Dmitry a cryptocurrency wallet, which contained about one bitcoin (about 2 million 200 thousand rubles). The girl immediately demonstrated how easy it is to transfer cryptocurrency through the Qiwi payment system to a bank card. On February 17, 2021, Dmitry was no longer able to pay for the hotel. He put the girl in the car and began to roll her around the city, persuading her to return a million rubles. Gretta hysterically began kicking the windshield, as a result, traffic police officers stopped the car. Vedler did not go further with Korovin in the car. Later, the young man visited Gretta at the hotel where she lived, according to him, she was calm after the quarrel. The girl paid for the hostel to Dmitry’s father, who arrived in Moscow, and on February 23 she rented a hotel room for him to make him more comfortable.

The next day, at about ten in the evening, the couple bought several bottles of vodka and some kind of tincture. In a state of extreme intoxication, the young people quarreled, Dmitry began to beat the girl, and then strangled Gretta with a pillow. Not realizing what had happened, he fell asleep. In the morning, Korovin saw Gretta in the blood and began to wipe the girl’s face with a pillowcase, then, in a state of shock, decided to wash her. Having made several attempts to bring Vedler to his senses, Dmitry realized that he had killed her. For several days the guy was drunk, then he decided to hide the corpse in a suitcase and take him to Lipetsk.

Financial difficulties did not go away with the murder, so Dmitry decided to take Gretta’s accumulated funds, and after her death, he took out loans in her name, as he wanted to pay off his parents’ debts. Korovin did not bury the girl for a year for rather strange reasons – he understood that he would be detained and did not want Gretta’s body to be exhumed later. At the same time, all this time Dmitry continued to work in order to financially support his parents. The killer confessed to the investigators: if he and Gretta had parted in a timely manner, then nothing would have happened, he sincerely repents of his deed. Korovin also shared his dream: “I hope that after serving my sentence I will meet true love, I will have children, I will be useful to society.”

It’s time to ask the defendant questions. Dmitry Korovin stood up timidly, again lowering his eyes to the floor. According to him, to say that he repents is to say nothing, for two years after the incident he has not lived at all. Dmitry called everything that happened an accident, bringing apologies to everyone. In February, he came to Moscow to get Gretta to fulfill her promise regarding the payment of the debt. When asked why, nevertheless, he did not bury the remains of Gretta during the year, Dmitry answered this way: he was not going to hide the crime, he needed this year to solve the financial problems of the family.

In the end, the issue of moral compensation for Vedler’s mother was resolved – the amount of 5 million was reduced to 700 thousand, reimbursed in full.
