At the Summer Paralympic Games, Kama athletes set two records

The team of Prikamye completed participation in athletics competitions within the framework of the Summer Paralympic Games “We are together. Sport”, which took place in Cheboksary, the capital of the Republic of Chuvashia. 333 athletes from 41 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and from Belarus took part in the competition, 153 sets of medals were played in the sport of persons with a lesion of the musculoskeletal system, sports of the blind, sports of persons with intellectual disabilities.

The Perm Territory was represented by eight athletes, they won 16 medals, the regional Ministry of Sports said.

A new world record in the long jump was set by Yevgeny Torsunov from Kamsk. He showed a result of 5.97 m, improving his own achievement of 2016 – 5.93 m in the T36 Paralympic class. Evgeny Torsunov also became the first in the 100m.

Another record holder is Fedor Rudakov. In the 5000 meters (sport of the blind), he, together with his new leading athlete Konstantin Plokhotnikov, showed the result of 15:13.10 – now this is the best time in Europe. In addition, Fedor Rudakov, together with the host Oleg Kregul, took first place in the 1.5 thousand meters.

Andrey Poroshin brought another gold medal to the Kama team – in the 100m. He also became third in the long jump.

Yegor Turov, the youngest athlete from our team, distinguished himself three times. In the fiercest struggle, he won third place in the 400 meters, setting his personal best, and also became a silver medalist in the 100 and 200 meters.

Athletes from the Perm Territory showed good results in javelin throwing. Olesya Konshina won silver, Galina Lipatnikova and Regina Borisova became bronze medalists in their classes. Galina Lipatnikova and Regina Borisova also brought silver medals to the national team in the shot put.
