At the Sailing Festival, the team of the Perm Regional VOI took first place

Sergey Ekimenko and Alexey Popov (in wheelchairs), Alena Buzmakova, Pavel Kuchumov and Maria Chuvyzgalova performed in the combined team of the Perm regional organization of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled.
In total, nine teams fought at the Pavlovsk reservoir in Bashkortostan from August 26 to 31, and these are 30 participants from six regions of the country (Perm Territory, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Leningrad, Orenburg regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan).
Competitions were held according to the Olympic system. Two crews participated in the swim. The team with the best time advanced to the second stage. Competitors had to go around two obstacles along a certain trajectory and return to the shore.
In general, the crew consists of two people: one works with the sail, the other with the rudder. But on the day of the tournament, the wind reached a speed of 18 meters per second – in order to avoid capsizing the catamaran, three people were released.
The participants were trained in handling a sailing catamaran, learned safety rules, learned how to assemble a catamaran, worked out the skills of tying knots and working with sailing rigging.
The Eternal Call festival of sailing and tourism for people with disabilities, organized by the Russian Sports Union of the Disabled, was supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.
