On March 24 in Salekhard, athletes at Reindeer Herder Day will complete the competition without spectators. The head of the district capital, Alexey Titovsky, announced this on his social networks.
“We are canceling all public events for tomorrow. At Polyabta, athletes will complete the competition without spectators. We are not removing the plagues on the river yet – they house tundra dwellers, but I want to warn you that they are closed to visitors,” the mayor wrote.
Titovsky also offered condolences to all victims of the terrorist attack and their families. On March 24, in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and other regions of the Russian Federation, the President announced day of national mourning.
It was previously reported that the indigenous northerners supported the cancellation of entertainment at Reindeer Herder Day in Salekhard.
