Astrophysicists explained incomplete information about solar activity from February to April by eclipses

Astrophysicists from the Solar X-ray Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences explained what explains the interruptions in the incoming data on solar activity.

In an article entitled “Night falls on the Sun once a day. Eclipse season has begun“scientists explained that the devices transmitting information about solar activity are located in geostationary orbit. This choice is due to the fact that the spacecraft hangs above the earth at one point, is constantly visible from the receiving center and can transmit data as quickly and efficiently as possible. Nevertheless , sometimes the Earth appears between the satellite and the Sun for some time every day.This can be compared to a solar eclipse, when the Moon appears between the Earth and the Sun.

Data will be received intermittently from February 27 to April 12. The longest period, 71.7 minutes, is expected from March 19 to 21.
