Astrophysicists: magnetic storms on Earth are unlikely in the next week

Astrophysicists from the Solar X-ray Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that active regions on the Sun, which could cause magnetic storms on Earth, have moved to the opposite side of the star.

The Earth’s geomagnetic background is expected to remain in the “green” zone over the next week.

Scientists estimate the likelihood of magnetic storms in the coming days to be less than 10 percent.
