[ad_1]

On December 22 at 00:34 Moscow time, the asteroid 4 Vesta will reach opposition, that is, it will be on the opposite side of the Sun relative to the Earth. On the same night, the winter solstice will occur in the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth.

The asteroid’s magnitude will be 6.6. It will not be visible to the naked eye, but can be seen with binoculars.

Vesta is the second largest object in the main asteroid belt after the dwarf planet Ceres and the largest asteroid in the Solar System. It can sometimes be observed with the naked eye in dark sky conditions.
