Astronomers have learned that young galaxies look like bananas, not disks
Astronomers working with the James Webb Telescope have come to the conclusion that young galaxies are shaped not like the usual disks, but like bananas.
A team led by Viraj Pandya from Columbia University has studied more than four thousand young galaxies.
The authors of the publication suggest that if the data obtained about galaxies is confirmed, this will provide additional data on the influence of dark matter on the appearance of galaxies.
