Astrakhanochka handball players lost at home to CSKA

In the final match of the preliminary stage of the Russian Women’s Handball Super League championship, Astrakhanochka hosted the current national champion, CSKA. Alexey Alekseev’s team lost with a score of 25:33.
The first half was dictated by the capital’s handball players. In the 25th minute, after an accurate shot by Polina Gorshkova, the Muscovites’ advantage reached 12 goals – 18:6. This difference in the score remained until the break – 20:8 in favor of CSKA after the first half.
At the beginning of the 2nd half of the match, the guests pulled away by a couple more goals. Only towards the end of the match the Astrakhan handball players managed to slightly reduce the gap, but nothing more. The final result was 33:25, a confident victory for the Moscow team. The top scorer for Astrakhanochka was Polina Sharkova, who scored 5 goals.
