The event was timed to coincide with All-Russian Walking Day and took place on Saturday, September 30, on the territory of the Volgar regional sports training center. All-Russian Walking Day is the largest public sports event held by the Russian Olympic Committee as part of its “Olympic Country” program for promoting the development of mass sports. The main goal of the event is to popularize walking as the most natural and accessible type of physical activity, as well as to promote physical culture and a healthy lifestyle. That is why all walking routes offered to event participants are accessible to all categories of the population, regardless of age, gender and level of physical fitness.
Activists of “Assistance” – volunteers of the regional “Dobro.Center” – regular participants in sporting events held for people of the “silver” age, promoters of a healthy lifestyle. Each participant is an example of how active and cheerful people can be, regardless of age. Therefore, their peers and especially the younger generation have a lot to learn from them.
