Astakhov’s son recovered 74.5 million rubles in a fraud case

In the Frunzensky District Court of Saratov, the son of the former Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Russian Federation, Pavel Astakhov, Anton, was charged 74.5 million rubles in a fraud case. These funds should be paid as compensation for harm to the victim.
Earlier it was reported that Pavel Astakhov received 3.5 years in a general regime colony for fraud on an especially large scale. The investigation proved that in 2019 he helped the head of one of the firms get a loan for 75 million rubles, after which this amount was stolen.
Astakhov’s lawyer Tatyana Shilova explained to RIA Novosti that Pavel does not admit his guilt and will appeal the verdict. She also noted that the prosecutor’s office insisted on five years in prison for her client, with the maximum possible term under this article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – 10 years.
