Russian President Vladimir Putin telephoned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, reports Kremlin. During the conversation, Mr. Assad strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, which killed 133 people.

Bashar al-Assad emphasized that Syrian citizens share the pain and sorrow of the Russian people. He wished strength to the families and friends of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured. The presidents discussed the difficult situation in the Middle East region and Syria, which directly faces terrorism. The parties agreed to resume contacts in the field of anti-terrorism and in other areas.

On the evening of March 22, armed men in camouflage burst into the Crocus City Hall near Moscow and opened fire on people. According to the latest data from the Investigative Committee, 133 people died from gunshot wounds and carbon monoxide poisoning due to a fire that broke out later. More than 140 people were injured.

The FSB detained 11 people involved in the terrorist attack, four of them were perpetrators. According to one of them, they promised to pay him 500 thousand rubles for shooting people. Many countries expressed words of support and sympathy. National mourning was declared on March 24.
