On November 8, volleyball players from Nizhny Novgorod ASK played an away match of the Russian Championship among Super League teams for the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod did not start the regular season in the best way, suffering 3 defeats in a row in meetings against Kuzbass, Yenisey and Ural. The ASK volleyball players won their only victory in an away match against Gazprom-Yugra from Kursk, which occupied a place in the middle of the standings.
In the away match against Gazprom-Yugra, the team from Nizhny Novgorod won with a score of 3:0, which came as a surprise. The Nizhny Novgorod players were not the favorites of the confrontation, but they were able to squeeze out all the reserves and won in three games. All games, except the second, ended in convincing victories for ASC. A successful result in the match against Gazprom-Yugra allowed ASC to take 14th place in the 4th round.
