Member of the board of the St. Petersburg football club entered former football player of the Russian national team Andrei Arshavin and head coach of Zenit Sergei Semak. Alexander Medvedev, general director of the club, has been appointed chairman of the board.
The board also included:
- Alexander Vasiliev – Deputy General Director for Security and Information Protection;
- Zhanna Dembo – Communications Director;
- Oleg Zadubrovsky – Director of the Legal Department;
- Vladimir Litvinov – Deputy General Director for Infrastructure;
- Alexey Pak – director of the commercial department;
- Maxim Pogorelov – Deputy General Director – Executive Director.
“The new structure is designed to systematize and streamline the process of making decisions that will be taken collectively, to provide a greater planning horizon and greater involvement of managers in the activities of the club,” Zenit said in a statement.
Arshavin, he played for the St. Petersburg club from 1999 to 2008 and from 2013 to 2015, he also played for the London Arsenal, Krasnodar Kuban and Kazakhstan Kairat. After the end of his playing career, Andrei Arshavin returned to Zenit as a sports functionary. Since January 2022, he has been the Deputy General Director for Sports Development.
In the 2022/23 season, Zenit won the Russian championship.
