The Tushinsky court arrested the head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Basmanny district of Moscow, Sergei Andreev, in the case of abuse of power (part 1 of article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). “The court granted the request of the investigation to select a measure of restraint in the form of detention against the suspect Andreev,” the source told the agency. What became the basis for the criminal case is unknown. According to the presented article, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs faces up to four years in prison.
According to the Telegram channel ShotSergei Andreev instructed “to open a criminal case on fraud on an especially large scale”: allegedly to the company Tesida services limited Latvia, from which money was remotely stolen.
At the same time, according to the channel, Tesida services limited Latvia was represented by the S&K Vertical law firm, where Sergei Andreev’s wife works. The prosecutor considered the initiation of the case unreasonable and canceled the decision. Sergei Andreev denied the connection of the case with the work of his wife. He was detained in Petersburg. According to Sergei Andreev, he was returning from Sochi, where he was on vacation.
Sergey Andreev is a police major. He was appointed head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Basmanny district of Moscow in 2021. Prior to that, he was the head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Zamoskvorechye.
