Armenia was recognized as a country more similar to Mars than others, and was chosen as a place to conduct simulations of research on this planet, Sputnik Armenia reports with reference to the Austrian scientific portal Futurezone.at.
As reported, the Austrian Space Forum (OeWF) will test systems and equipment in Armenia that can be sent to explore Mars. The AMADEE-24 experiment will take place in March 2024.
According to OeWF representatives, it is planned to create a “geological twin” of Mars in Armenia. The participants of the experiment have already been selected, these are citizens of Austria, Germany, Israel, Italy and Britain, a total of two women and four men.
