Vice Speaker of the Rada Kondratyuk confirmed the use of MiG-29 fighters transferred by Slovakia
During a speech in the Slovak Parliament, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Elena Kondratyuk, said that the four MiG-29 fighters transferred to Kyiv were already “guarding the sky of Kharkov.”
She also thanked the authorities of the republic for the humanitarian aid handed over to the Ukrainian people.
Four of the 13 fighter jets were handed over to Slovakia last week. The head of the Slovak Defense Ministry, Yaroslav Nagy, promised that the rest of the aircraft would reach Ukraine in the very near future. He added that the republic will receive 12 AH-1Z Viper helicopters from the United States as compensation.
Former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico declaredthat the fighters were handed over to Ukraine in gross violation of constitutional norms. He offered to investigate this transaction. The Smer party, which he heads, filed a lawsuit against members of the government of the republic who made such a decision.
