Arkhangelsk “Vodnik” completed its participation in the Russian Cup

On September 23, the semi-final matches of the Russian Bandy Cup took place in Kemerovo. In the first of them, Vodnik met with the local Kuzbass. This was reported by the press service of the Arkhangelsk team.

At the very beginning of the match, Arseniy Kozlov and Roman Ananin had good opportunities to open the scoring, but they were unable to convert them into goals. The Sibiryaks, in turn, were helped by the implementation of standards. First they scored a penalty, and then Vladislav Tarasov was accurate after a corner – 0:2. One of the key moments of the entire match was the sending off of Vodnik defender Alexander Legoshin until the end of the match. However, even despite this, the yellow-greens continued to follow the game plan. In the 35th minute, Kuzbass goalkeeper Artem Kataev threw himself at the feet of Pavel Pozhilov and demolished him. The main referee of the match, Dmitry Anikin, immediately awarded a penalty. Unfortunately, the ball was saved by the Siberian goalkeeper after Evgeniy Dergaev’s shot from the 12-meter mark, and a minute before the whistle for the break, the hosts once again hit Igor Dolgopolov’s goal – 0:3.

In the second half of the meeting, it was noticeable that the “vodniks” continued to stick to their line. Of course, constantly playing in the minority affected their actions, but they responded to almost every Kemerovo goal with their own accurate shot. As a result, the final whistle sealed the victory of Kuzbass – 9:5. Vodnik scored a double from Evgeniy Dergaev, and Mikhail Sergeev, Kirill Orlov and Ilya Nasekin also scored once each.

On Monday, Vodnik will return to Arkhangelsk, where it will continue preparing for the Russian Championship, which starts in early November.
