Arkhangelsk taekwondo athletes won 37 medals at the national tournament in Kazan

The team of the Arkhangelsk region won 37 medals at the Russian Taekwondo Championship of the GTF. On the tatami in Kazan, 2,400 representatives of 63 regions of the country became the rivals of the northerners.

Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Sergei Pivkov congratulated our athletes on their successful performance. He noted that for the first time in many years, a team of boys aged 10–11 years became the winner in team heng.

– Taekwondo is becoming an increasingly popular sport among young people. This time, a record number of participants performed on the tatami in Kazan: almost 2.5 thousand athletes from all over Russia, including 44 representatives of the Arkhangelsk region,” said Sergei Pivkov. – At all-Russian competitions, our athletes are showing increasingly high results not only thanks to regular training, but also through participation in home competitions at the regional and interregional level, organized with the support of the regional government. At such tournaments, guys gain experience and hone their acquired skills against the strongest opponents.

Karina Karandashova became the champion of Russia in personal hyenga. The championship silver in the same discipline was won by Artem Askeev, and in the team competitions – Artem Gubanov, Ilya Nikitenko, Nikita Ushakov, Pavel Zelenov and Artem Askeev. Bronze medalists in individual disciplines were Ilya Nikitenko and Pavel Zelenov.

Our young taekwondo athletes also added national championship medals to the regional team’s assets.

In individual disciplines, the winners were Maxim Ponomarev and Valentin Kozodubov, Makar Senchukov won silver. Bronze medalists: Egor Chubunov, Tatyana Chertova, Roman Gumarov, Evgeniy Gruzdev, Makar Senchukov, Alexander Gubanov, Diana Novoselova and Victoria Vnukova.

In team disciplines, gold was won by Alexander Gubanov, Makar Senchukov, Yaroslav Gogulin, Konstantin Kozyrev, Egor Vostryakov and Grigory Bastrykin.

Team bronze went to Gleb Ponomarev, Maxim Ponomarev, Yaroslav Nikolaev, Lev Kokorin, Dmitry Silenok and Roman Gumarov.

As part of the Russian Championship, the winner of the festival was Lev Sopin, the silver medalist was Martin Letovaltsev, and the bronze medalist was Daria Bastrykina.
