Arkhangelsk shooters took a scattering of medals at the Russian Open Cup

The national team of the Arkhangelsk region took 18 awards at the open cup of Russia in bullet shooting. The launches took place on the basis of the complex “Fox hole” in the Moscow region.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region, about 350 athletes from 38 regions of Russia, as well as shooters from Belarus, took part in the competition. During ten competitive days, 60 sets of awards were played – 269 medals.

Five medals, three of which are gold, were won by our famous shooter, Honored Master of Sports of Russia Leonid Ekimov. He placed third in the individual gold medal standings.

Leonid Yekimov became the winner in the team air pistol shooting and in the individual competition in the small-caliber pistol high-speed shooting. In the final, he won silver in high-speed shooting from a small-caliber pistol and in shooting from an air pistol.

It is worth noting that the men’s team of the Arkhangelsk region consisting of Leonid Ekimov, Mikhail Isakov and Sergey Kulebakin did not give their rivals from the Moscow region any chances in the final standings of air pistol shooting. The score is 16:4. In team shooting with the participation of representatives of the Republic of Belarus, our shooters also had no equal.

Alena Suslonova showed excellent results in shooting from a small-caliber pistol. In the medal match, our athlete beat three-time Olympic champion, a representative of the Omsk region Vitalina Batsarashkina.

Bronze medals in women’s air rifle team shooting were won by Veronika Ekimova, Daria Maslennikova and Anastasia Gendvilo.

The pair Stanislav Kuznetsov and Daria Maslennikova became two-time bronze medalists in air rifle shooting.

The regional Bullet Shooting Federation plans to hold the next shooting standard on August 12 in Koryazhma for young athletes from the southern districts and regions of the Arkhangelsk region.
