From November 3 to November 6, the XXXIV All-Russian competition in ship modeling sports “Memory Cup of the Solovetsky Jungs” was held in the capital of Pomorye
Arkhangelsk ship modelers became the winners of the All-Russian competitions. About a hundred of the best designers of unmanned models from ten regions of Russia competed for the tournament awards.
According to the results of the competition, the national team of the Arkhangelsk region took first place: it has 14 medals. Silver – a sports team from the Kirov region (nine medals). Closed the top three of the strongest ship modellers from the Smolensk region (three medals).
The competitions were held for the first time on the basis of the NArFU ship modeling club, which was equipped on behalf of the head of the region. More than three million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for these purposes.
There are twice as many participants this year as last year. This is largely due to the fact that it was possible to seriously upgrade the infrastructure for the development of ship modeling sports. Specialists call the new base in Arkhangelsk the best in the country. The complex includes a swimming pool, workshops and a laboratory for ship modellers, according to the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region.
