Arkhangelsk is preparing to host the largest basketball tournament

For the first time, the Russian 3×3 Basketball Super Cup and the first tandem Winline Russian 3×3 Championship will be held in Arkhangelsk. The competition will take place from December 11 to 14 at Nord Expo. The sports block of the regional government has already begun preparations for the tournament of the best of the best.

At the International Forum “Russia – a Sports Power,” Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Sergei Pivkov discussed with the President of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF) Andrei Kirilenko and the Executive Director of the RBF Vladimir Dyachok the issues of holding competitions in the capital of Pomorie.

– We are beginning active preparations for large-scale basketball competitions. Representatives of the RFB will arrive in Arkhangelsk in a few days – working meetings have already been planned with the participation of the Minister of Sports Alexei Aksenov and the regional basketball federation to work out all the details,” noted Sergei Pivkov.

Let us recall that in 2022, together with the RFB and with the support of PSB (Promsvyazbank), a Street Basketball Center was built on the embankment in Arkhangelsk. And this year, an agreement was signed between the regional government and the Russian Basketball Federation on the construction of an indoor basketball center in the Arkhangelsk region. It is planned to have two basketball halls, a hotel for athletes and a functional training hall.
