Argentine President-elect Miley declared his unwillingness to cooperate with autocrats and communists

The second round of the presidential elections in Argentina led to the victory of Javier Miley, who said that he considers “liberal democracies” his partners in the international arena. He emphasized his support for those who defend freedom and peace, and believe in the principles of liberal democracy. In an interview with a TV channel LN+ he also noted that he would not support authoritarian regimes and communists, although he did not specify which specific countries he was talking about.

Miley condemned the dictatorship of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and called his statements about him inappropriate. Earlier, Maduro called Miley’s victory in the elections “far-right neo-fascism.”

It is important to note that Miley does not plan to develop interstate relations with Brazil, China and Russia due to disagreement with their policies. However, he stressed that he would not prevent private businesses from doing business with these countries. Miley calls Israel and the United States his priority allies. Miley’s foreign policy adviser, Diana Mondino, said in late October that the Freedom Comes alliance saw no need for Argentina to participate in BRICS, which the country was admitted to after the group’s August summit.
