Archaeologists have found in Egypt the ruins of an unknown ancient Roman city

The ruins of an 1800-year-old ancient Roman settlement were discovered by archaeologists during an expedition to the Egyptian Luxor, informs Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt.
“Ancient Roman settlement” – a quarter within the ancient Greek city of Thebes, which is now called Luxor. During the excavations, the researchers found the ruins of houses, bathrooms and workshops.
The scientists also reported that a lot of artifacts of the life of the Thebans were preserved at the find site: pots, water bottles, bells, earthenware, grinding tools and Roman coins made of copper and bronze.
Archaeologists have noted that the territory of the ancient Roman quarter of Thebes probably began to be settled in the predynastic period. Recall that Egypt was annexed to the Roman Empire in the 1st century BC, the settlement did not change its status until the very end of the Roman period, at least in the place where modern Egypt is now located.
