Employees of the Serbian Institute of Archeology, during excavations at the site of the ancient Roman city of Viminacium, found a musical pendant in the shape of a phallus with wings, legs and a tail.
The city was built about 2 thousand years ago, its population reached 40 thousand.
On the gate of one of the buildings that burned down in the fire, a musical pendant was found, which the Romans themselves called “tintinnabulum”. Its central element was the fascinus – an ancient Roman deity depicted as a phallus for protection from evil spirits.
