The Arab countries took the side of “positive neutrality” regarding the conflict in Ukraine. Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud spoke about this at the summit of the Arab League (LAS).

Speaking at the summit, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud informedthat he is ready to “continue mediation efforts between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.”
In September 2022, it became knownthat, through the mediation of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, ten foreigners who were captured during a special operation in Ukraine were released.
On September 11, 2022, US Democratic Senator and one of the initiators of anti-Russian sanctions, Bob Menendez, published a statement on his website about the need to immediately freeze all aspects of cooperation with Riyadh, including arms sales and security cooperation, “until then until the kingdom reconsiders its stance towards the conflict in Ukraine.”
