Aquatics Championship moved from Kazan to Singapore

The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) has decided to host the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. This is stated in a post on site federation. Initially, the championship was to be held in Kazan.
“World Aquatics is pleased to announce that our flagship event will be held in Singapore. It has everything we hope to share with our athletes: world-class facilities, experience in hosting events at the highest level and an integrated approach to water sports,” said the head of the federation, Hussein al-Musallam.
Kazan was announced as the venue for the World Aquatics Championships in July 2019 at a conference in Korea. Competitions were to be held in six water sports: swimming, diving, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo, high diving.
In March, World Aquatics, as part of the sanctions due to the military operation in Ukraine, banned athletes from Russia from competing.
In Kazan also had to pass the UEFA Super Cup 16 August 2023. The Union of European Football Associations moved the Super Cup to Athens.
