The Armed Forces of Ukraine entered the top 15 strongest armies in the world. This is evidenced by the rating data published by the Global Firepower portal. The Ukrainian Armed Forces moved up seven places and outperformed Israel, Poland and Australia.
A year ago, Ukraine was in 22nd place. The reason for the sharp increase was the financial and military assistance of the West after the start of the Russian special operation to protect the Donbass. On January 6, US authorities are expected to announce a new aid package for Nezalezhnaya totaling $2.85 billion. The Pentagon plans to send Ukraine Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which US military spokesman Patrick Ryder called “tank killers.” In total, about 50 cars will be sent.
The first place in the Global Firepower ranking is still occupied by the US Army. On the second – Russia. The third line belongs to the PRC army.
The Global Firepower portal has been ranking the armies of the world since 2006. This list includes 140 states. The rating takes into account more than 50 different factors: military power, finances [финансирование армии]logistics capabilities, country geography and so on.
