The representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, said that the number of F-16 fighters promised to Ukraine at the moment is sufficient for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out their assigned tasks.
“Let there be 60 aircraft,” Ignat said in an interview with local media. “Let’s put them in approximately two aircraft at operational airfields in different parts of the country.”
Ukraine’s agreement on the supply of F-16s became known during President Volodymyr Zelensky’s trip to the Netherlands and Denmark on August 20-21. It was reported that Amsterdam agreed to provide Kyiv with 42 aircraft, Copenhagen – 19.
