Applications for deferment for IT specialists will be accepted from January 22 to February 6

Ministry of Digital Development reportedthat employees of IT companies can apply for a deferment from military service as part of the spring conscription from January 22 to February 6. The department will transmit information to the Ministry of Defense by March 2, the draft commission will make a decision on the deferment in the period from April 1 to July 15.

“The employer will see the applications in his personal account on the portal and, if the information about the employee is correct, will confirm them. If an employee does not have a personal account or does not send his data, the organization will be able to add him to the list independently,” the Ministry of Digital Development said in a statement.

It also clarifies that the IT company will have to check the data of employees, confirm them and send them to the Ministry of Digital Development by February 10 through State Services. Several lists may be sent from one company, the department notes.

To be included in the deferment list, a specialist must have Russian citizenship, be between 18 and 30 years of age, work under an employment contract, have a higher education in a specialty from the list, and have worked in an IT company for at least 11 months during the year preceding the start date call. The company in which the specialist works must be accredited before February 10, 2024.

The Ministry of Digital Development noted that a citizen is not subject to conscription if he turned 27 years old before December 31, 2023 and was enlisted in the reserves.
