Application advertising will appear in the Start menu in Windows 11 – Kommersant

The American corporation Microsoft is going to add advertising to the Start menu in Windows 11 – companies will be able to promote their applications there. About it reports a Phantom Ocean insider who gained access to an early beta version of one of the upcoming Windows 11 builds.

The ad unit will appear in the Featured section of the Start menu, currently showing apps that customers use frequently or have recently installed. Promoted apps will have a “Promoted” tag. It is unknown when Microsoft plans to integrate the innovation into stable versions of the operating system.

Microsoft previously stated that it will now sell Teams as a separate product for corporate clients, and not just as part of the Office suite and commercial Microsoft 365 suites. Also in the company testing chatbot for the Xbox console, designed to automate and improve the work of gamer support.
