Applicants from new regions will take entrance exams to universities

For applicants from the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions annexed to Russia, who will not take the exam, entrance exams to universities will be established. Corresponding order issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, it is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the text of the decree, universities will independently conduct entrance examinations for such applicants. This will affect universities both in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as in other regions of Russia. Applicants will be able to use the results of the USE as the results of entrance examinations.
The LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions were annexed to Russia following referendums held on September 23–27, 2022. On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed agreements on the accession of four regions to Russia. In Rospotrebnadzor spokethat the Unified State Examination in the annexed regions in 2023 will be carried out at will.
