Apple will switch to OLED displays in new generations of iPad tablets and MacBook laptops, reports Nikkei Asia.
According to the publication, citing its own sources in the technology industry, the American technology giant intends to abandon traditional LCD screens in favor of more modern OLED displays. In 2024, OLED screens should appear on top-end iPad tablets, and the first MacBook laptops with similar displays will not be released until the second half of 2025. As journalists note, the transition to OLED screens may also be associated with the appearance of the first folding tablet in Apple history, but there is not even an approximate date for the appearance of such a device.
Currently, OLED displays have been used in iPhones since 2020, but Apple tablets and laptops are not equipped with such screens. At the same time, Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo and other companies are already actively using OLED screens in their tablets.
