By early 2024, Apple plans to release new iPad Air, iPad Pro and MacBook Air models, reports Bloomberg citing sources familiar with the situation.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, the new iPad Air will come in two sizes, and the Pro model will be equipped with an OLED screen. The new MacBook Air model will be powered by the new M3 chip. Sources say that sales of the new iPads are expected to begin at the end of March 2024, when iPadOS 17.4 will be released. The release of the new Mac is also expected no earlier than March, the agency’s interlocutor added.
For the most recent fiscal year ended September 31, Apple’s revenue and net income decreased by 3% – to $383.3 billion and $97 billion, respectively, and a drop in revenue was noted in each of the four quarters of the financial year.
As for certain categories of Apple products, iPhone sales for the quarter increased by 2.8%, to $43.8 billion. In September, Apple introduced the new iPhone 15 model. Mac sales decreased by 33% for the quarter, to $7.6 billion, and iPad – by 9%, to $6.4 billion. At the same time, revenue from services increased significantly (this division, among other things, includes the music streaming service Apple Music and the video service Apple TV+) – by 16%, to $22.3 billion.
