Apple at WWDC Worldwide Developers Conference showed a new generation of Mac Studio and Mac Pro desktops, billed as the most powerful Macs ever. The new Mac Studio and Mac Pro are available to order now and will ship to customers on June 13th. Mac Studio will start at $2,000 and Mac Pro will cost at least $7,000.
New Mac Studio available with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips. The new M2 Max is one and a half times faster than its predecessor and can have up to 96 GB of combined memory, while the M2 Ultra version is three times faster than the previous version and is available with 192 GB of combined memory. The new Mac Studio features higher bandwidth HDMI delivering resolutions up to 8K and 240Hz frame rates, and the M2 Ultra supports up to six Pro Display XDR monitors simultaneously. There are Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless protocols, four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10 Gbps Ethernet port, an enhanced HDMI port and two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, and a front-panel SD card slot.
New Mac Pro received the flagship M2 Ultra processor coupled with 192 GB of combined memory, which allows you to play 22 streams of 8K ProRes video at once and supports up to six Pro Display XDR. The computer received seven PCle expansion slots for connecting additional equipment. Mac Pro has eight Thunderbolt 4 ports (six at the back and two at the top), three USB-A ports, two higher bandwidth HDMI ports supporting resolutions up to 8K and frame rates up to 240Hz, two 10Gbps Ethernet ports, and A headphone jack that allows you to use high impedance headphones. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless protocols are supported.
