Cybersecurity Administration of China (CAC)published a list of companies that have already complied with the new requirements of the authorities for the operation of online application stores. It included 26 companies. Among the operators that provided authorities with information about businesses registered in China were Chinese Xiaomi, ZTE, Huawei, Baidu, Lenovo, Tencent, Oppo and Vivo, as well as South Korean Samsung. But Apple is not on this list yet.

In August, the Chinese government decided that all operators of online mobile app stores to operate in China must either have a company registered in the country or operate through a local publishing partner. All information about the activities of online app stores, including the address of the Chinese company or partner, must be transmitted to CAC. True, what exact consequences a violation of this rule might have was not specified.

Operators of online app stores have until March 2024 to submit information to the CAC.
