iPhone 15 will receive a USB-C connector instead of the usual Lightning. Bloomberg became aware of the details about the new generation of Apple smartphones, which will be presented in the fall. For example, the iPhone 15 Pro will have a titanium alloy frame and a frosted glass back panel. The internal structure of the phone will also change, which will facilitate its repair, the agency specifies. In addition, new smartphones will receive “frameless” displays.
The connector will be replaced in both the Pro version and the standard one. And this is the most significant change, IT expert Alexander Baulin is sure: “The last time the connector changed was 10 years ago from wide to the current Lightning. Until now, there was a question: will they really change it? Perhaps this happened due to the requirements of the European Union to standardize the connectors of all smartphones. Almost all Android phones have USB-C.
Sometimes companies come up with something of their own, but it’s still compatible with USB-C standards. And Apple stubbornly made Lightning. Anyone who has an iPhone, who has something for it that connects through the connector, will have to change this. We see that with Lightning it is not possible to do the same functionality as with USB-C. According to the experience of using different models, the second one is still more reliable – it fails less often. The user can hope that his charge will last longer.
As for Dynamic Island, the iPhone at some point had an “eyebrow”, in which not only the camera was hidden, but also the Face ID system. It is not very clear how they can make it dynamic, how it can be hidden under the screen. The titanium case will be only in the older model. A stronger and lighter metal, with a smaller thickness, it allows you to achieve greater strength. The sixth model of the iPhone has earned criticism for being folded.
Titanium allows, on the one hand, to make the phone thinner, something that all manufacturers are fighting for, to take up less space, on the other hand, it is durable.
The problem with Apple over the past few generations is that smartphones are very similar. They need to be separated so that people who are able to pay more feel that they gave this money not in vain.

It is possible that the connector was changed not only because of EU requirements, but also for the convenience of users, says AppleInsider.ru editor-in-chief Renat Grishin: “For about the past five years, there has been talk that the EU will try to force Apple to switch to a universal connector. . Bloomberg is predicting an increase in the cost of the Pro version of the iPhone due to the titanium frame and more expensive cameras. So, Apple Watch made of titanium is $100 more expensive than smart watches made of stainless steel, the agency specifies.
