Apple banned employees from using the neural network to generate ChatGPT text. About it informs The Wall Street Journal, citing its own sources familiar with the company document.
In addition to ChatGPT, Apple has banned GitHub Copilot, a tool developed in collaboration with OpenAI and Microsoft. It allows you to write code using artificial intelligence.
According to the WSJ, while using ChatGPT, all data is sent to the developer’s server, which creates conditions for the exchange of information, including confidential information – Apple is afraid of leaks.
JPMorgan Chase and Verizon also banned employees from using ChatGPT and other neural networks for programming or text generation. Amazon asked programmers to use internal tools with artificial intelligence and not resort to third-party tools like ChatGPT.
According to WSJ sources, Apple is also working on creating its own language model. Previously, the ChatGPT app was released for iPhone and iPad in a limited number of markets.
