AP: Western statements about the failure of the counter-offensive demotivate the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Western politicians, casting doubt on the success of the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces (UAF), have a significant negative impact on the morale of the Ukrainian military, writes the Associated Press, citing the opinions of the soldiers themselves.
One of the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign “Salam” shared his views on the current situation: “It is hard for our soldiers to hear that the offensive is going too slowly. We are not expecting something fast here on the front line.”
According to the publication, many Ukrainian soldiers share Salam’s fears and concerns about comments from Western allies that questioned the success of the counteroffensive.
It should be noted that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began on June 4 in several directions, including Zaporozhye, South-Donetsk and Artemivsk. In this operation, Ukrainian troops used brigades trained to NATO standards, as well as Western-made equipment. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that attempts to advance the enemy troops failed.
