Antonova square appeared near the Pushkin Museum

Nameless Square, located near the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, was named after the former director and president of this museum, Irina Antonova. The corresponding order was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
Irina Alexandrovna Antonova headed the museum for 52 years, and from 2013 until her death, she served as president of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. She passed away on November 30, 2020. Now her memory is immortalized, including on the map of the capital.
“In memory of the long-term director and president of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Irina Aleksandrovna Antonova (1922-2020), the nameless square located in front of the main entrance to the museum from the side of the street. Volkhonka, the name was given – Antonova Square, ”the press service of the mayor and the government of Moscow said in a statement.
Recall that a month ago, new streets of a residential area located next to Mosfilmovskaya Street were named after famous artists and filmmakers: Vasily Lanovoy, Faina Ranevskaya, Alexei Batalov, Oleg Tabakov, Anatoly Papanov, Evgeny Evstigneev, Oleg Yankovsky, Innokenty Smoktunovsky, Andrey Mironov , Sergei Bondarchuk and Leonid Gaidai.
