Anton Shkaplerov completed his participation in the Roscosmos cosmonaut corps. He will continue to work at the Cosmonaut Training Center. Yu.A. 51-year-old Anton Shkaplerov was enlisted in the cosmonaut corps on May 29, 2003. He flew into space four times, having lived in orbit for a total of 709 days 8 hours 5 minutes 25 seconds. Mr. Shkaplerov also made three spacewalks, having worked overboard the ISS for 21 hours and 38 minutes. In 2013 he was awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
Mr. Shkaplerov flew into space for the last time on October 5, 2021. On the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft, he went to the ISS together with the crew of the film The Challenge – actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko.
In March 2022 he returned from the ISS, landing on the Soyuz MS-19 descent vehicle in Kazakhstan, together with Roscosmos cosmonaut Petr Dubov and NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hay.
