On the morning of February 9, the regime of the counter-terrorist operation was canceled in the farm of Petrovsky, Soviet District, which had been introduced by the FSB the previous evening in order to “prevent a terrorist attack.”
According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC), “the perpetrators planned to commit a terrorist attack” at one of the railway stations located in the area of the farm. According to local residents, an electric train to Budyonnovsk runs along the existing railway line and freight trains move.
During the operation, residents of nearby houses were evacuated. “The bandits blocked in the house were asked to lay down their arms and surrender to the authorities. In response, they opened fire on law enforcement officers and were neutralized in the course of combat contact,”— reported at the NAC.
According to the FSB, none of the population and law enforcement officers were injured during the operation.
